This year’s Google Marketing Live Event will be in a hybrid format, with a mix of in-person and live-streamed presentations and sessions. The event is a marketing conference Google hosts each year. However, the event is also an opportunity for Google to highlight its product and service offerings, including analytic tools and ad formats.

A significant portion of 2022’s event will include virtual breakout sessions aimed at helping business leaders become more effective. The amount of in-person presentations and networking opportunities may change as the event draws closer. Google plans to announce the exact schedule as COVID-19 restrictions change.

The company does promise to unveil new tools and developments at this year’s Google Marketing Live event. Some of these developments include solutions for measuring marketing and ad performance in ways that protect consumers’ privacy. Other product releases promise to help companies keep up with changing customer preferences and buying behaviors.

    Privacy Sandbox on Android

One of the tools Google is expected to announce is called Privacy Sandbox for Android. Like Apple’s recent privacy updates and restrictions on its iOS devices, Privacy Sandbox will help protect Android consumers. The solution aims to shield personal data from marketers, although Privacy Sandbox is not expected to be as restrictive as Apple’s privacy protections.

Google will also discuss its plans to phase out cookies and web browser tracking. That said, marketers have been preparing for this for months. Other companies are already developing solutions for the “cookie-less era.”

    Our Two Cents

As a tech giant, Google’s innovations and decisions impact consumers and digital marketers. The Google Marketing Live event is an opportunity for marketing executives and professionals to prepare for industry changes. Consumers and end-users can benefit from the knowledge, too.

By attending the event in-person or virtually, end-users and marketers can better understand the tools they’ll see shortly. However, it is probably best to plan on streaming the event, given the current uncertainty about the number of in-person sessions.
