But that speed only matters if the final product still feels intentional, on-brand, and emotionally sharp. That\u2019s where the human touch still matters. A lot.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8b10475 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8b10475\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>What\u2019s your current process when working on design projects that incorporate AI tools?<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Every project starts with the same foundation: I map the brief to the toolchain. What exactly do I need? Image generation? Motion? Sound? VO? Compositing? Once I have that mapped out, I lock the visual language \u2013 brand colors, lighting mood, and what I call \u201ccamera grammar.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the project includes a real-world location or product hero, I generate the keyframes first: the hero shots, close-ups, and the most expressive angles. These are the anchor points, and everything else is built around them.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prompts aren\u2019t just lines of text \u2013 they\u2019re mini director notes. I include lens type, movement direction, lighting temperature, wardrobe cues, product placement&#8230; everything. Each AI model has a different strength, so I assign tasks accordingly. Once generation is done, I treat the assets like live-action footage: I color-grade, match cuts, drop in SFX and VO, QC for brand fidelity \u2013 and then deliver.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One campaign I\u2019m proud of is House\u2019s EOFY video. I generated cookware frames that looked exactly like their products, right down to the material finish. The video felt branded and premium, not like AI placeholders.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h2>Are there any specific tools or platforms you rely on for AI-assisted design?<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Absolutely \u2013 and the list evolves every month. Keeping up is part of the job.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For <\/span><b>images<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, I rely on:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google Imagen 4<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 the most consistent for photorealism<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flux<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 great for fast reference and styleframes<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For <\/span><b>video<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, my go-tos are:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google Flow \/ VEO 3<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 handles text-to-video and even includes sound and VO<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Higgsfield<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 excellent for controllable motion and keeping character consistency<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kling 2.1 Master<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 incredibly sharp fidelity, but it doesn\u2019t do audio, so I handle VO and scoring separately<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s not about finding one perfect tool. It\u2019s about knowing which tool solves what problem, and building a modular, efficient pipeline from there.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h2>How do you maintain brand consistency and creative integrity when using generative tools?<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You don\u2019t hope for consistency \u2013 you enforce it.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I embed brand DNA directly into the prompts: color palettes, typography cues, emotional tone, product names. I also maintain a prompt library for each client so I can replicate brand fidelity across campaigns.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today, continuity is still one of AI\u2019s weakest spots. That means your prompts have to be painfully specific \u2013 like explaining your shot to a five-year-old. I use real camera language in my prompts: \u201c35mm lens, low-angle dolly-in, tungsten practicals.\u201d That kind of specificity gives the model the context it needs.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And of course, I QC every single shot. Color, shape, geometry, logo placement, emotional tone \u2013 it all has to align. If I wouldn\u2019t approve it on a real set, I won\u2019t approve it here.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4508a59 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4508a59\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>Are there any tasks you now completely offload to AI \u2013 and ones you never would?<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes \u2013 and the line between human and AI tasks is getting clearer every day.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/p><p><b>I fully offload<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">B\u2011roll style inserts<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Atmospheric cutaways<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Quick previs\/storyboards<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Background extras<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cleanup passes<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhat-if\u201d style explorations<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><b>I never offload<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (and maybe never will):<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seamless motion graphics<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tight data-driven UI<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Precise product hero shots<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Musical timing<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intentional imperfections<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Human creativity<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AI can generate options. I make the calls. It accelerates \u2013 but I direct. The original idea is always human.<\/span><\/p><h2>Has working with AI changed how you approach ideation or storyboarding?<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course yes.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The bottleneck used to be visualization. Now, I can show clients the vibe in a few hours instead of days. That means we focus on the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">idea<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, not whether they can picture it in their head. Plus, it speeds up iteration \u2013 bad ideas get killed faster, good ones evolve quicker.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But AI is still just a tool. You have to learn how to use it, or it\u2019ll end up using you.<\/span><\/p><h2>What\u2019s the biggest mistake designers make when incorporating AI into their workflows?<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Treating AI like a gimmick instead of footage.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Too many people drop in \u201ccool\u201d AI shots that don\u2019t match the sequence or the brand. You have to ask: if this was from a real shoot, would I approve it? If not, why is it okay just because it\u2019s AI?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And then there\u2019s the issue of lazy prompting. If you\u2019re not briefing the model like a Director of Photographer (DP) and an art director, you\u2019re going to get generic sludge. You can\u2019t half-ass it and expect magic.<\/span><\/p><h2>What can AI do really well when it comes to motion design \u2013 and where does it still fall short?<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Right now, AI is crushing speed and variety. Look development, visual gap-filling, background shots, rapid iterations \u2013 it\u2019s a machine at brute force.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where it stumbles:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Narrative intent. It doesn\u2019t understand <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">why<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a shot exists.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scene-to-scene continuity. Same character, same outfit, same lighting? Still very hit-or-miss.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taste. It doesn\u2019t know when not to use the glossy version. Sometimes the best choice has a little grit or imperfection.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re heading toward near-perfect visual fidelity. But without a human\u2019s POV, everything starts to look the same. If you don\u2019t have a creative compass, your work just blends into the AI noise.<\/span><\/p><h2>Do you think AI has made you a better designer? If so, how?<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Definitely. Because I stopped fearing it.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AI helps me visualize scenes and storyboards I could never shoot \u2013 or even find in stock libraries. It pushes me to clarify my ideas earlier. And most importantly, it frees up my time so I can focus on the stuff that really matters: timing, emotion, precision and creativity.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s less grunt work and more brain work.
