Creating Multiple Accounts
Because there’s an expectation for a business to create and run its ads through a single account, having more than one account that you use can result in a suspension. Even if you aren’t doing anything malicious, there’s a strong chance that Google will recognize the connection between two accounts and suspend them.
This action primarily prevents any potential circumvention of Google’s systems, which isn’t unique to Google. It’s standard on many other platforms for people to create more than one account to get around specific policies or even evade an initial suspension.
If your Google Ads suspends your account, don’t create a second one as a solution. Suspensions are temporary and undoable if you follow the proper steps to resolve the situation, but creating a second account can result in a permanent ban from Google Ads.
Lack of Information
Since anyone can use Google Ads to market their products, there’s a certain level of information that every account must provide for credibility. Accounts that lack basic information like a phone number and email address can appear suspicious in the system.
Ensure you provide all the necessary information to avoid potential suspension due to your account being untrustworthy. If you have a website connected to the account, have the information on there too.
Counterfeiting Products
People advertise many kinds of products with Google Ads, and it’s common for specific products to overlap. Sometimes two products are similar to the point where Google’s system fails to see any real distinction between them, which can cause the suspension of one account for counterfeiting.
Unfortunately, suspension can happen even if the product overlap is coincidental. Because this situation is a mistake, the only thing you can do is submit an appeal and explain the misunderstanding.
If your appeal fails, contact the Google Ads team to speak with them. Doing so will allow you to explain the situation fully, rather than leaving them to make sense of it on their own with your appeal.
Malicious Software
Owning a website involves managing many aspects to keep it healthy and functional to web traffic. If you have a website for your business, malicious software is one of the significant issues you’ll want to avoid.
Suppose malicious software is the cause for suspension. In that case, Google will clarify that in the notification email, and the best way to remedy the issue is to invest in malware protection software. There are many software options to choose from, so do research before deciding which one you want to try.
After you have malware protection in place, use it to remove any malware from your website before you make your appeal. Otherwise, Google won’t lift the suspension on your account. If your account suspension doesn’t lift after the appeal, contact Google directly to inform them that you used a malware removal tool to clean up your website.
