TikTok Ads Support: Most Common Issues and How to Fix Them

    Ad PlatformsTikTok Ads

Our support team works inside TikTok Ads Manager every day, and most TikTok Ads problems that reach us aren’t algorithm mysteries. They’re a rejected landing page, a card that failed overnight, or a campaign someone edited on day three and sent straight back into learning. Our specialists see the same cases again and again, and each one has a fix that works.

The money at stake keeps growing. TikTok’s US ad revenue is projected to reach $14.5 billion in 2026, about 38% of its global ad revenue, according to WARC. More budget on the platform means more competition for every impression, and less room for downtime.

Here’s the counterintuitive part. Many TikTok issues get worse because advertisers act too fast. Behavioral economists call it action bias: under pressure, doing something feels better than waiting, even when waiting is the right move. On TikTok, that reflex resets learning, triggers new reviews and burns budget.

So we asked our support experts to list the issues they encounter most and write down exactly how they fix each one, step by step. They’re grouped into accounts and ad approval, payments and tracking, and delivery. We keep adding new cases as they come in.

    Table of Contents

TikTok Ads problems with accounts and ad approval

TikTok reviews accounts and ads mostly through automation, and it rarely tells you exactly what went wrong. That’s why these issues fill our team’s queue first.

Ad account stuck in review or rejected at setup

What our team sees: new accounts rejected because the promotion link doesn’t load, doesn’t match the business name, or points to a site that isn’t live yet.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Open the Account Setup page and read the review status and reason.
    2. Make sure the website is live, loads on mobile and shows your business name.
    3. Match the business name, website and billing details across the account.
    4. Update the promotion link if it points to a placeholder or a different domain.
    5. Resubmit the account for review.

    Ad account suspended

What our team sees: every ad stopped at once after repeated policy violations, user complaints, suspicious payment activity or brand misuse. Suspended accounts also lose features like pixel transfers.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Open the Account Health tab and the email tied to the account to find the stated reason.
    2. Don’t create a new account. That usually makes things worse.
    3. Fix the cause first: remove violating ads, correct business details or resolve payment issues.
    4. Document what you changed with screenshots.
    5. Move on to the appeal (next issue) once everything is fixed.

    The 30-day appeal window

What our team sees: appeals filed too late, or filed before anything was fixed. Per TikTok’s own help center, if the issue isn’t fixed or the appeal is rejected within 30 days, the suspension becomes permanent and can’t be appealed.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. In TikTok Ads Manager, open the help menu and select Customer Support.
    2. Choose Account Review and Appeals, then Suspended Ads Manager Appeal.
    3. Explain what caused the issue and exactly what you changed.
    4. Attach your screenshots and any documents that support the fix.
    5. Submit one appeal and track it within the 30-day window.

    Ads rejected for misleading claims

What our team sees: before-and-after visuals, guaranteed results, exaggerated discounts and fake urgency triggering rejections.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Open the rejected ad and read the policy reason.
    2. Remove words like “guaranteed”, “100%” and “miracle”.
    3. Replace before-and-after visuals with product-in-use footage.
    4. Make sure every price and discount in the ad matches the landing page.
    5. Edit and resubmit, or appeal if you believe the review was wrong.

    Ads rejected for creative quality

What our team sees: low-resolution video, missing audio, wrong aspect ratios and text that covers the caption or buttons.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Export the video in 9:16 at 720p or higher.
    2. Keep audio on, with music or voiceover.
    3. Keep text and logos inside the safe zone, away from the caption and buttons.
    4. Remove black bars, blurry frames and watermarks from other platforms.
    5. Upload the new version and resubmit.

    Landing page rejected

What our team sees: pages that don’t match the ad, don’t load on mobile, use a different language than the ad, or redirect to another domain.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Open the URL on a phone over mobile data.
    2. Remove pop-ups that block the content.
    3. Make sure the product, price and language match the ad.
    4. Remove redirects to other domains and “coming soon” pages.
    5. Resubmit the ad with the fixed URL.

    Restricted industries and products

What our team sees: financial services, health supplements, dating, alcohol and weight-loss ads stuck in review or rejected, because the rules change by country and some categories are banned.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Check TikTok’s industry policy for each market you target.
    2. Confirm the product is allowed at all in those markets.
    3. Gather the licenses or certifications TikTok asks for.
    4. Limit targeting to approved markets and the required age groups.
    5. Add the required disclaimers to the ad and the landing page.

    Payments, access and tracking

These problems don’t always show an error message. Delivery just stops, or conversions disappear from reporting. That makes them easy to misdiagnose as a creative or targeting issue.

    Payment unsuccessful

What our team sees: failed payments from wrong card details, expired cards, low limits or banks blocking the charge. One failed card can stop every campaign in the account.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Check the payment details in Ads Manager or Business Center for typos.
    2. Confirm the card is valid, not expired and has enough limit for the charge.
    3. Ask your bank to approve charges from TikTok.
    4. Clear the Ads Manager cache by adding &reset_cache=1 to the end of the URL, as TikTok’s payment failure checklist suggests.
    5. Retry the payment or add a second payment method.

Currency or time zone set wrong

What our team sees: reporting, budgets and billing that never line up, because the account was created with the wrong currency or time zone. Both are locked after setup.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Confirm the current settings in the account information page.
    2. Create a new ad account in the same Business Center with the right currency and time zone.
    3. Rebuild or duplicate your campaigns in the new account.
    4. Connect the same pixel and audiences to the new account.
    5. Pause the old account once the new one is delivering.

    Account spending cap reached

What our team sees: every ad pausing at the same moment, even ads with budget left, because a monthly cap in Business Center was hit.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Open Budget Manager in Business Center.
    2. Check the monthly spending cap against spend so far.
    3. Raise or remove the cap.
    4. Confirm the ads start delivering again within a few hours.

    Refund for a suspended account

What our team sees: prepaid balance locked in a suspended account. Suspended accounts follow a separate refund process from active ones.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Check the remaining balance in the billing section.
    2. Gather invoices and payment confirmations.
    3. Submit a refund request through Customer Support with the records attached.
    4. Follow up on the ticket, since this process takes longer than a standard refund.

    Business Center access and permissions

What our team sees: users who can’t see accounts because they were invited at the wrong role, ad accounts not linked to the Business Center, or a TikTok Shop still linked to a former agency.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Confirm which Business Center owns the ad account.
    2. Ask the Business Center admin to grant the right role to the correct email.
    3. Assign the ad account and pixel to the user as assets.
    4. For TikTok Shop, make sure the Seller Center login email has admin access to the Business Center.
    5. If a former agency still holds the shop, ask them to unlink it from their Business Center.

    Pixel not firing

What our team sees: events missing or duplicated, so the algorithm has nothing reliable to optimize toward.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Install the TikTok Pixel Helper extension and browse your site.
    2. Confirm the base code loads on every page and each event fires on the right page.
    3. Remove duplicate pixel code from themes, plugins or tag managers.
    4. Set up the Events API so browser blocking and consent settings don’t wipe out your data.
    5. Use the same event ID for pixel and Events API events so TikTok can deduplicate them.
    6. Check the Events Manager diagnostics the next day.

Conversions don’t match Shopify or GA4

What our team sees: advertisers worried that TikTok reports more or fewer conversions than their store or analytics. TikTok counts view-through conversions and uses its own attribution window.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Check the attribution window set in Ads Manager.
    2. Compare the same date range in the same time zone.
    3. Confirm pixel and Events API events are deduplicated.
    4. Compare click-through conversions only when matching against last-click tools.
    5. Investigate further only if the gap stays large after these checks.

TikTok Ads Manager issues with delivery and performance

Approved, paid and tracked, and still nothing moves. These are the cases behind most of the “my ads are active but dead” tickets our team receives.

    Ads approved but not delivering

What our team sees: ads marked active with zero impressions. In most cases one basic setting is blocking delivery.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Check payment status and account balance.
    2. Check the account spending cap in Business Center.
    3. Confirm the ad group schedule and start date are correct.
    4. Look at the estimated audience size and widen it if it’s small.
    5. Raise the bid or switch to a bid strategy that allows delivery.

    Stuck in the learning phase

What our team sees: ad groups that never exit learning because the budget can’t buy roughly 50 conversions in the first seven days.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Divide your daily budget by your target CPA to see how many conversions it can buy per day.
    2. If that’s well below about 7 per day, optimize for a higher-funnel event such as add to cart.
    3. Consolidate small ad groups into fewer, larger ones.
    4. Avoid edits to budget, bid, targeting or creative during the first week.
    5. Raise the budget gradually if you need more volume.

    Budget isn’t spending

What our team sees: daily budgets left mostly unspent because of low bid caps, sudden budget jumps or edits made mid-learning.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Check whether a bid or cost cap sits below your historical CPA.
    2. Set the cap at or above that CPA, or switch to maximum delivery while testing.
    3. Raise budgets in small steps instead of jumping from $50 to $500 overnight.
    4. Stop editing ad groups that are still learning.
    5. Add new creatives if the existing ones get low engagement.

We go deeper in why TikTok ads aren’t spending.

    Audience too narrow or overlapping

What our team sees: stacked interests, small locations and tight age ranges that leave too few people to learn from, and ad groups competing for the same users.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Check the estimated audience size in the ad group settings.
    2. Remove stacked interest layers and widen age and location where it makes sense.
    3. Try broad targeting and let the algorithm find buyers.
    4. Merge ad groups that target the same people.
    5. Exclude recent purchasers from prospecting campaigns.

    Creative fatigue

What our team sees: a winning video that burns out in one to three weeks. CTR drops and CPA climbs while targeting stays the same.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Track CTR and CPA per creative, not only per ad group.
    2. Flag creatives where CTR has fallen and frequency has climbed.
    3. Produce three to five new hooks every week.
    4. Add the new creatives to the existing ad group instead of launching a new one.
    5. Pause fatigued creatives once the new ones start delivering.

    Spark Ads authorization errors

What our team sees: Spark Ads that fail because the creator’s authorization code expired, was created for the wrong video, or the post is private.

    How our experts fix it:

    1. Ask the creator to confirm the video is public.
    2. Make sure ad authorization is turned on in the creator’s settings.
    3. Request a new code for the exact video, with a long enough authorization period.
    4. Enter the new code in Ads Manager and confirm the post loads.
    5. Track code expiry dates so campaigns don’t stop mid-flight.

The TikTok Ads problems our support team fixes most trace back to three things: policy mismatches, broken tracking, and impatience during learning. Fix the account details and tracking first, then give campaigns room to learn before you touch them. The advertisers who scale on TikTok still hit issues. They just fix them in hours instead of weeks.
