3. X (@MSFTAdsSupport): Public, Fast, and Underrated
Use it for quick questions, status checks, and nudging a case that has gone quiet.
Microsoft runs a dedicated support handle on X, @MSFTAdsSupport, and promotes it on the official support page as a fast way to get help. It works well for short questions and for following up on a case that has stalled in the regular queue.
What works on X:
- Keep the message short and include your case number if you have one.
- Move to a direct message if the team asks for account details.
- Be specific about the impact, such as campaigns paused or spend stopped.
What to avoid:
- Posting your Customer ID, billing details, or anything sensitive in a public post.
- Using X as your first channel for complex billing or suspension cases. Live chat handles those better.
Think of X as a complement, not a replacement. It is the fastest way to get eyes on a case that already exists, not the place to open a new investigation.
4. Help Center and Community Forum: Self-Serve Answers
Use them for “how do I” questions, setup issues, policy clarifications, and anything that is not urgent.
The Microsoft Advertising Help Center at help.ads.microsoft.com is the documentation hub for the platform. It covers everything from conversion tracking to editorial policies to account access, including self-service fixes like recovering a forgotten user name or resetting a password. A surprising share of support tickets could be closed here in five minutes, with no queue at all.
When the documentation does not cover your exact case, the community forum is the next stop. Microsoft hosts it on Microsoft Learn Q&A, where advertisers ask questions and share fixes, and where Microsoft’s support team also responds to threads. Search the forum before you post. Odds are someone has already hit the same error.
A note for programmatic buyers: if you use Microsoft Curate, Invest, or Monetize, your support lives in the Microsoft Advertising Customer Support Portal, which is separate from the search advertising channels above. Select the right product on the support page first, or you will spend your first conversation being redirected.
If you are still setting up your first campaigns, our guide on how to get started with Microsoft Ads answers many of the questions that typically end up in the forum.
