Microsoft Ads Support Q&A: Phone Number, 24/7 Chat, Email

    Ad PlatformsMicrosoft Ads

In October 2025, an advertiser posted a two-line question on Microsoft’s own Q&A forum: is Microsoft Advertising support still available? Every time he tried to reach it, he got the same reply: “Currently unavailable.” Another user marked it as the same question.

That thread captures the real problem with Microsoft Ads support. The help exists, but finding the right door is harder than it should be. And more advertisers are knocking. Microsoft’s search advertising revenue grew 9% to more than $15 billion in fiscal 2026, according to Microsoft’s FY2026 annual report. More spend means more accounts, more suspensions, more billing holds and more people searching for a phone number.

Daniel Kahneman’s peak-end rule explains why this matters. People judge an experience by its worst moment and by how it ends, not by the average. A platform can deliver great results for two years, but one suspension with nobody on the phone becomes the whole story.

So here are straight answers to the Microsoft Ads support questions people search for most: the phone numbers, whether anything is really 24/7, how live chat and email work, and what to do about the issues advertisers complain about most. Every answer links to Microsoft’s own help article, so you can go straight to the official source.

How to contact Microsoft Ads support: phone, chat and email

What is the Microsoft Ads support phone number?

It depends on your country. The Microsoft Advertising support page detects your location and shows your local number, and “Choose location” switches markets. These are the numbers Microsoft lists for four major markets:

    Country

    Phone number

    Hours

    United States

    800-518-5689

    Mon-Fri, 6am-6pm PT

    Canada

    1-800-985-4671

    Mon-Fri, 6am-6pm PT

    United Kingdom

    0800-633-5915

    Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm GMT

    Australia

    1800-030716

    Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm AEST

Numbers and hours change, so check your country page before you call.

Is there a 24/7 Microsoft Ads support phone number?

No. In every market above, phone support runs Monday to Friday during business hours. The 24/7 channel is live chat. If an account breaks on a weekend, start there.

Does Microsoft Ads have live chat support?

Yes. Microsoft lists chat as available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from the same support page. Chat opens with a virtual agent, so put the problem in one sentence and include your Account ID and Customer ID in your first message. If the virtual agent can’t solve it, ask to be connected to a support specialist, and save the case number.

Is there a Microsoft Ads support email address?

Not a public one. Microsoft’s support page lists phone, chat, X, a community forum and the Help Center, but no email address. Microsoft’s forum moderators do say support teams discuss accounts “via phone, chat or email.” In practice, email comes in after a case is open. For example, Microsoft follows up by email when it needs more information on a suspension appeal.

Can I get Microsoft Ads support on X or the community forum?

Yes. Microsoft runs @MSFTAdsSupport on X and a Microsoft Advertising community forum on Microsoft Q&A, where moderators reply and can message you privately. Never post account IDs, billing details or documents publicly on either.

Why does Microsoft Ads support say “currently unavailable”?

That’s the complaint from the October 2025 forum thread. Microsoft’s moderator told the advertiser to select his country and language on the support page, and he got through to the German support team by phone two days later. If chat shows as unavailable, call the line for your market during its hours, or post on the forum and ask a moderator to follow up privately.

Account and billing issues advertisers complain about most

My Microsoft Ads account was suspended. How do I appeal?

First, don’t open a new account. Microsoft treats that as trying to get around enforcement, and it can lead to every account under the same manager account being suspended. According to Search Engine Land, Microsoft Ads Liaison Navah Hopkins recommends three steps: verify your advertiser details, file an appeal through Microsoft’s account suspension appeal page, and follow up through chat if you haven’t heard back within a week. A human team reviews every appeal, and most advertisers get a decision in about 14 days. For the common triggers, see why Microsoft Ads suspends accounts and how to fix it.

Why is my access blocked for “unusual activity”?

Microsoft shows this message when it detects unusual activity and suspends an account as a security precaution. You can no longer sign in with that user name, and the message tells you to contact Support. Because you can’t sign in, use phone or chat rather than in-account tools, and have your Customer ID and business details ready.

Why is my Microsoft Ads account on hold?

A hold stops your ads from serving until the cause is fixed. Microsoft’s article Why is my account on hold? lists each hold reason and its fix. Start with billing, which is one of the most common reasons Microsoft Ads campaigns stop serving.

My Microsoft Ads payment was declined. What should I do?

Check the card number, expiry date and billing address, make sure the address matches your business details, and ask your bank whether it blocked the charge. Then retry or add a different payment method. Microsoft walks through each case in How do I fix a declined payment?

Can I get a refund from Microsoft Ads?

Sometimes. Microsoft explains how balances are handled in About credits, refunds, and adjustments. If Microsoft deactivates an account, its support team says it may issue refunds for payments at its sole discretion, so a refund on a suspended account isn’t guaranteed.

How do I pass Microsoft Ads advertiser identity verification?

Microsoft requires advertisers to verify their business identity, a program it introduced in its 2022 announcement. If your ads serve in the European Economic Area, you have 30 days to complete it before EEA serving pauses, and accounts flagged by risk checks won’t serve anywhere until it’s done. Most failures come from mismatched documents. Make sure your legal business name, address and website domain match across your account and your paperwork, because Microsoft may ask for proof linking your business to your domain. You may also need to pass verification before a suspension appeal can go through.

    Campaign and tracking issues

Why were my Microsoft Ads disapproved, and how do I appeal?

Microsoft disapproves ads that break its editorial or advertising policies. Fix the ad or landing page using Microsoft’s guide to fixing a Disapproved or Approved Limited status, or request an exception if you think the decision is wrong. Since August 2026 you can request up to 5,000 ad exceptions at once, according to PPC Land. Most editorial reviews finish within 48 hours, and anything still under review after two business days should go to Support. Our Microsoft Ads policy checklist covers the triggers we see most.

Why aren’t my Microsoft Ads showing?

Start with Microsoft’s Ads not showing: What can I do? Then check in this order: account status (hold, verification or suspension), billing, policy status, budget and bids, then targeting and ad schedule. The first two stop everything at once. The rest usually cut delivery for a campaign or ad group.

Why aren’t my Microsoft Ads conversions tracking?

Microsoft’s article Why am I not recording conversions or tracked revenue? covers the main causes. Install Microsoft’s UET Tag Helper Chrome extension to see whether your tag fires, then check your conversion goals, consent settings and any goals imported from Google Ads. Fix this fast, because Microsoft’s automated bidding depends on conversion data.

Why isn’t my Microsoft Ads promo code working?

The usual causes are an account that isn’t brand new, no valid payment method on file, an expired code, or a typo. Microsoft’s promotional offer troubleshooting page covers each one, and our guide on how to get Microsoft Ads credits explains how the credits work.

    Manager accounts (MCC) and Xandr

What is the Microsoft Ads MCC?

Microsoft’s version of a Google Ads MCC is the manager account: one login that gives agencies and large advertisers access to many ad accounts. Microsoft explains how manager accounts and ad accounts fit together in Hierarchies in Microsoft Advertising, and we cover the basics in what is a Microsoft Ads manager account. When you contact support about several accounts, give the manager account ID along with each Account ID.

Where do I get Xandr support?

Xandr is now part of Microsoft Advertising. Microsoft retired the Xandr Invest DSP on February 28, 2026, according to Gourmet Ads, while Microsoft Curate and Monetize continue. These products have their own help desk: Microsoft’s support page sends them to a separate Xandr Customer Support Portal, not the Microsoft Advertising Platform phone and chat lines.

Is there a faster way to get Microsoft Ads support?

Yes. Work through a Microsoft Advertising Elite partner. Microsoft runs a three-tier Partner Program (Partner, Select and Elite), and Elite partners get direct support from Microsoft’s partner team. We explain the tiers in our guide to the Microsoft Ads incentive program.

Adcore holds Elite status and passes it on, for free, to the in-house advertisers, agencies and freelancers it supports:

    Summary

Microsoft Advertising support is reachable by phone on weekdays, by live chat 24/7, and on X and the community forum, but there’s no public email address and no 24/7 phone line. For suspensions, holds, declined payments, verification and disapprovals, Microsoft’s own help articles are the fastest first step, and a complete case gets resolved faster than a vague one.

If you’d rather have one specialist who already knows your account, Adcore’s free Microsoft Ads support program gives you exactly that.
